Tesco is adding more than 150 new products to its frozen aisles in a major nationwide shake-up.

The supermarket giant’s revamped range is rolling out across UK stores this week, with new meals, desserts and bakery treats hitting freezers.

Prices start at £2 for Tesco’s new 400g Thai Green Curry, while a 500g Winter Spiced Apple and Pear Crumble costs £2.25.

Other own-brand additions include Tesco Finest Salted Caramel and Belgian Milk Chocolate Cookies for £3.50 and Finest Barramundi Fish Fillets for £5.

The huge autumn overhaul has been designed around convenient weekday dinners, cosy winter nights and special occasions, as reported by What’s The Jam.

And shoppers can expect a major expansion of Asian-inspired options.

Blue Dragon has launched Chinese Chicken Chow Mein Noodles and Sweet and Sour Chicken with Egg Rice, both priced at £2.50 for 400g.

Frozen food brand Kitchen Joy is also bringing four meals from its new Noodle Shop range to Tesco.

They include Crispy Chilli Oil Biang Biang Noodles, Khao Soi Chicken Noodles, Garlic and Soy Prawn Wonton Noodles and Chicken Pho Noodles.

The £3.75 meals can be cooked from frozen in eight minutes.

Meanwhile, Australian brand Mr Chen’s Dumplings is making its UK supermarket debut exclusively at selected Tesco stores.

Its range includes Pork and Chive Dumplings, Prawn Hargow, Honey Soy Chicken Dumplings, BBQ Pork Buns, Shanghai Soup Dumplings and Prawn Chive Wontons, with prices starting at £4.25.

Other new additions include New York Bakery Stuffed Pizza Bagel Manhattan Pepperoni Melts for £3.50 and The Gym Kitchen High Protein Paprika Wedges for £3.35.

Little Moons Strawberry Matcha Latte Mochi will set shoppers back £5 for six.

Greggs fans will also be able to pick up frozen Bacon and Cheese Wraps, Mini Steak Rolls and Mini Sausage Rolls, with prices starting from £3.50.

And Ben & Jerry’s Cookie Dough and Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream sticks are expected to launch exclusively at Tesco later this month, although prices have yet to be confirmed.

Harry Jones, Tesco frozen category buying manager, said: “Our frozen range offers fantastic-quality, great-value options designed to bring some excitement to mealtimes.

“We know our customers will love our autumn range, full of winter warmers for those cosy nights in, bake-at-home bakery products, dishes, decadent desserts and branded products.”

Nancy Chen, co-chief executive of Mr Chen’s, said growing demand for Asian food made it the right time to launch the brand in Britain.

She said: “As shoppers continue to explore diverse flavours that offer convenience, and with Asian cuisine growing in popularity, the timing feels right to introduce our range of Asian-inspired, restaurant-quality recipes to the Tesco freezer aisle.”

Availability will vary between stores, with some products only launching in selected branches.
