A super-rare prototype of an iconic Ferrari is going under the hammer for £950,000.
This unique 2012 Ferrari LaFerrari Prototype is the first-phase LaFerrari test mule known as the ‘M6’.
The LaFerrari was the luxury motor manufacturer’s first hybrid hypercar, marking a new era in their history.

Despite being kitted out with the V-12 Type F140EB engine, the ‘M6’ was mostly used for brake testing.
Unfortunately, the prototype is not road legal – but the winning bidder will have the car serviced free of charge to be in working order upon arrival.

The buyer will also have the option of detachable test-mule panels used by Ferrari during development.
A yellow binder also accompanies the vehicle detailing the usage of the car by the iconic Italian brand.
The exterior of the vehicle is finished in black with a light brown interior, as reported by Whats The Jam.

The collector item was sold once they were no longer needed for testing – with the private owner purchasing the ‘M6’ in 2016.

RM Sotheby’s are hosting the sale with bidding closing on the 23 October.
It is taking place in Singen, Germany, close to the Switzerland border.

A spokesperson for the auctioneers said: “Mating Ferrari’s traditional V-12 engine alongside an electric motor made for a truly incredible driving experience, one which continues to influence Ferrari’s current models to this day.
“Needless to say, numerous lessons were learned in the LaFerrari’s development, and it can be argued that the development of this car was more important than the development of any other car in Ferrari’s recent history.

“Today, over a decade since M6 was lapping Fiorano all in the pursuit of developing Ferrari’s next hypercar, this prototype is a fascinating part of not only the history of the LaFerrari, but the history of the numerous hybrid models that would follow in its footsteps.
“Thus, this is a car that would stand proud within any collection of Maranello’s latest and greatest supercars.”
