A fed-up Brit has taken an eye-catching stand against the UK’s crumbling roads by posing in a bikini next to a “dangerous” pothole.
Julia Roberts, 50, has gone viral after stripping off for a tongue-in-cheek Baywatch-style stunt to highlight what she calls the “dreadful state” of the nation’s streets.
The Beaconsfield local is calling on councils to stop splashing cash on “useless” temporary fixes and properly resurface roads instead.

Her cheeky clip has already racked up more than 34,500 views, with her wider campaign hitting a staggering 15 million views across social media.
“It’s part of a series of videos I’ve made trying to highlight the dreadful state of UK roads,” Julia, from Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, told What’s The Jam.

“These potholes and failed road surfaces aren’t just costing motorists millions of pounds on repairs but even more importantly they are incredibly dangerous too.
“We need resurfacing not bodge job patching that doesn’t work.”
Julia filmed the stunt in March on Gravely Way in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, braving freezing temperatures to make her point.

The automotive journalist, presenter and enthusiast didn’t let the cold stop her mission to raise awareness.
Her campaign aims to highlight the growing cost to drivers, with many forced to fork out hundreds for repairs caused by damaged roads.
Julia said: “I’ve used humour not to make light of a serious issue but to hopefully raise a smile from the millions of drivers, riders and pedestrians that have already been affected by the totally unacceptable state of our roads.

“I mean, we are expected to pay for an MOT to ensure our vehicles are safe for the roads, but I don’t see local authorities being held to account for not having roads safe for our vehicles.
“I bought a pair of rear tyres in December at a cost of just over £500.
“Within three weeks I was replacing one of the said brand new tyres due to the wall of the tyre being broken due to a pothole.”
And her stunt has certainly got people talking.
Viewers were left in stitches, with many praising her unusual approach.
One person said: “Will councils start calling them Lidos and charge you when you go in one?”

A third viewer said: “Starting to make potholes desirable.”
While another user said: “You forgot the rubber ducky Julia.”
Another person added: “Brilliant message, and superb way to get it across – love your work.”

One more person added: “Lovely paddle in a pot hole.”
