A dad has pranked his family by screwing their Christmas tree upside down to the ceiling.
Matt Gartside even managed to decorate the gravity-defying tree with baubles, lights and a star.
The dad-of-three was not too pleased when his wife, Jennifer asked him to get the decorations out the loft.
Matt, 36, said she pestered him to put the decoration up by himself.

After Jennifer left the room to go wash her hair, Matt came up with the bizarre idea to screw the tree into the ceiling.
In a bid to prank his wife, he asked his eldest daughter Leah, 18 and her boyfriend, Louis to help screw the tree into place.
When Jennifer returned, she was not impressed with Matt’s prank in their home in Hastings, East Sussex.
He said that the tree is still intact and amazingly none of the decorations have fallen off.
He says another bonus is that it has baby-proofed the living room as his 11-month-old granddaughter, Livia cannot reach it.

Matt said: “The whole process took around 15 minutes by the time my wife had washed her hair the tree was up.
”Jen came down stairs and walked in the front room and couldn’t believe what she could see.
“She called me an idiot. I just found it so funny.

”I hid my drill so she couldn’t take it down.
”My youngest daughter Lacey, 10 put the lights on the tree and my wife then joined in with putting the baubles on.
”They are hung the exact same way you would normally hang baubles .
”None have fallen off yet after four days so I think it has worked [although] she won’t admit it to me.”
”My middle daughter Mika, 15 is the only other person in our household that didn’t like it and agreed with my wife but over time it has finally grown on her.”
They plan to keep it up for the whole yuletide season as long as it stays up.
“It will be up until the 2 January as that’s when we take the decorations down,” he added.
