Gavin and Stacey star James Corden delighted staff after popping into a local chippy.
The actor and comedian, 46, was smartly dressed wearing a blazer in the greasy takeaway.
But it didn’t stop him posing with the staff.

Corden – who played Smithy in the BBC sitcom and was co-writer – was bizarrely with former Foreign Secretary David Miliband.

He visited Colmans fish and chip shop in South Shields, near Newcastle after doing a lecture with the ex-MP.

A spokesperson for the chippy said: “What an incredible night, welcoming James Corden to Colmans.

“It was a pleasure to welcome him after visiting South Shields for David Miliband’s annual lecture.

“A brilliant night for all our team, and to have such a big name enjoying our fish and chips.”

Locals were split on him turning up, as reported by What’s The Jam.

Cliff said: “Talk about mixing with the elite.”
Marie said: “Love him.”

But other residents weren’t as keen on their visitor.
David said: “About as funny as hemorrhoids.”
Barry said: “Loving that David Milliband is there as well and got ignored.”
Sue said: “Best fish and chips going. Can’t stand him.”

Gavin and Stacey finished with a Christmas special last month.
It saw Smithy and Nessa – played by co-writer Ruth James – get together at the end.
But there was no explanation of Uncle Bryn and Jason’s infamous fishing trip.
