A doctor who specialises in changing people’s eye colour permanently has gone viral after showing the results – but not everyone is on board.
Dr Brian Boxer Wachler, an ophthalmologist, shares his experience and knowledge with his 3.4m followers on TikTok (@brianboxerwachlermd).
He previously has warned people against vaping, saying that it “barbecues the lungs” and admitting his addiction to social media.

But now, the 57-year-old has gone viral for a completely different reason – changing people’s eye colour – which is his full-time job.

Although, not everyone is on board.
In a clip, which has racked up 7.6m views and over 677,000 likes, he shows the before and after results.
“It’s cosmetic surgery but for the eyes,” Dr Brian told What’s The Jam.
“If people elect to have breast augmentation, face lifts and Botox, then why not change their eye colour as well?

“If that’s what some people dream of having.”
While it’s something Dr Brian, from Los Angeles, US, isn’t keen on having himself, the reactions from people make him realise why he offers this unique treatment.

But you’ll need a healthy bank balance – as the cost? $6,000 (USD) (£4,800) per eye.

He said: “After the procedure my patients are amazed.
“Incredibly happy, sometimes crying with tears of joy.
“Overall, it’s very safe.
“No loss of vision in healthy eyes without prior LASIK.
“Sometimes scratchiness or light sensitivity, but that’s temporary.”
In the video, there’s various clips of people’s reactions to their new eye colour, with many of them brought to tears.
Users have flocked to the comments to share their reactions, but a few users aren’t in favour of the procedure.
“Imagine risking being blind for life to look like a literal demon,” one user said.
Another person added: “I’m gonna lie the results look good.”
“This is scarier than any horror film I have seen,” commented Amy.
Emma said: “Congrats! You’re demonic.”

“We listen and we don’t judge,” Ken added.
Dr Brian, who always knew he wanted to be a doctor, says the process, keratopigmentation, takes up to 20 minutes to finish, with only one day for recovery.
And the colour change is “instant”.
The selection ranges from emerald green, evergreen, riviera blue and Paris blue.
But the most popular are honey gold, steel grey and olive green.
So how does he do it?
He said: “[I begin with] using an advanced laser to create a circular tunnel in the cornea.
“Then I use specialised custom instruments that I designed to extend the outer diameter of the channel to match the natural edge of the cornea to maximise the natural appearance.
“Lastly, I place ink in the channels to change the eye colour.”
So far, he’s seen “hundreds” of clients at his Beverly Hills clinic, Boxer Wachler Vision Institute over the past few years.

On his website, he added: “Changing eye colour can significantly impact self-perception and interpersonal interactions.
“Many individuals see their eye colour as integral to their identity and choose to change it for self-expression or to enhance alignment between their inner self and outward appearance.
“This alteration can boost self-esteem and confidence, particularly if the new eye colour resonates with cultural or familial significance.”
