A motorbike once owned by Steve McQueen is set to go under the hammer and it’s expected to fetch up to £110,000.

The 1926 Excelsior Super X motorbike was gifted to the actor by his friend and stuntman Bud Ekins during the 1970s.

It has no lighting, electrics, front brake, and has just a single drum on the rear but it is unrestored since McQueen’s ownership and still runs.

The model features a racing frame, an oversized rear fender, no front fender, short exhaust headers, and an alcohol-fueled, race tuned engine.

McQueen kept this bike until his death in 1980, riding it on his Santa Paula ranch.

It was sold in 1984 as part of the McQueen estate auction and comes with all the documents from the sale, as reported by Whats The Jam.

The tyres are vintage and the leather seat is original.

Bidding for the motorbike through Julien’s auctions in Los Angeles, California, starts at £37,000 but the guide price is up to £110,000.

The listing reads: “Due to its factory-built flat track nature, this model features a racing frame, an oversized rear fender, no front fender, short exhaust headers, and an alcohol-fueled, race tuned engine.

“There’s no lighting or electrics, nor a front brake, with just a single drum on the rear.
