The vintage Citroën driven by Roger Moore in the iconic James Bond car chase scene has been snapped up for £111,00.
This classic 1981 Citroën 2CV played a vital role in the beloved 007 film ‘For Your Eyes Only’.
The intense pursuit saw the late great Roger Moore accompanied by Bond girl Carole Bouquet flee from the bad guys.

In the movie, James Bond and character Melina Havelock escape from Gonzales’s Villa on the outskirts of Madrid, Spain.
This Citroën was one of six used in the seven minute sequence.
However, the recently auctioned vehicle was the pristine one of the half a dozen 2CV’s on set.

It is one of just three of the Citroën’s modified by filmmakers to withstand the action required for the scene.
The ride was kitted out with a more powerful GS 1015cc engine for the 1981 motion picture.

In its original state the car had a top speed of 71mph.
The interior of the vehicle has a black painted floor with the rubber mats being removed for filming over safety concerns.

Heritage Auctions sold the 1981 Citroën 2CV for £111,695 on Thursday (17 Jul), as reported by Luxury Auto News.

A spokesperson for the auction house stated: “This vehicle was the ‘pristine’ car used at the beginning of the sequence as Bond and Melina make their escape.

“This car was used specifically for the driving shots with Moore and Bouquet, therefore not fitted with a roll cage as it would have been visible on camera.
“As 007 takes the wheel he shakes off two Peugeot pursuit cars by barreling down lanes, lurching through a sleepy village, and literally flies through the olive groves in this seemingly indestructible 2CV.”
