Tesco is giving away thousands of free breakfasts this weekend as it marks Armed Forces Day.

The supermarket is offering serving Armed Forces personnel and military veterans a free hot breakfast at 335 Tesco Cafés across the UK on Sunday, 28 June.

Around 159,000 regular Armed Forces personnel and 32,000 reservists are eligible for the offer, while veterans can also claim the free meal by showing a valid Veteran’s ID card.

Those taking part can choose from The Breakfast, The Veggie Breakfast, The Vegan Breakfast, a Sausage Bap, Egg Bap, Veggie Bap or Bacon Bap, as reported by Whats The Jam.

To claim the offer, serving personnel should present their MOD90 military ID card at the drinks counter in a Tesco Café, where a member of staff will provide them with a coupon.

The coupon can then be scanned at the kiosk when ordering to redeem the free breakfast.

Veterans can follow the same process by presenting a valid Veteran’s ID card.

The initiative is returning for a second year for veterans, with Tesco revealing it has handed out more than 7,800 free breakfasts to serving personnel and veterans since 2022.

Ashwin Prasad, Tesco UK CEO and executive sponsor of the supermarket’s Armed Forces Network, said: “Tesco has a long association with the Armed Forces and we are proud to be the leading private sector employer of veterans in the UK, which we support through our thriving Armed Forces network.

“This Armed Forces Day, we are recognising those who serve and have served. Everyone loves a free breakfast and it’s a nice way of thanking them for their service.”

Sabrina Lungo, chair of Tesco’s Armed Forces Network, added: “We take great pride in our connection with the Armed Forces and offering this small token of appreciation on Armed Forces Day is just one way that we’re helping and recognising serving personnel and veterans.

“In 2025, we reconfirmed our commitment to the Armed Forces community through re-signing the Armed Forces Covenant and launching our three-year partnership with Help for Heroes, to support not only veterans at Tesco but the wider community.”

The offer is available for one day only on Sunday, 28 June, at participating Tesco Cafés across the UK.
