Lewis Hamilton’s helmet is heading under the hammer for a whopping £105,000.
The McLaren Mercedes Arai lid was worn by the F1 superstar during his time with the German team.
The 40-year-old used it at the 2010 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and during 2011 Barcelona preseason testing.

Hamilton’s early career helmets were inspired by his hero, the late Ayrton Senna, featuring a yellow base with green and blue stripes similar to the Brazilian legend’s design.
The helmet was gifted to Hamilton’s designer after the Barcelona preseason testing in 2011, who kept it until 2024 before it was sold to the current owner, as reported by Luxury Auto News.
RM Sotheby’s is hosting the auction in Richmond, UK, giving racing fans a rare chance to own a piece of F1 history. Bidding is open now and closes on 11 Dec.
A spokesperson for RM Sotheby’s said: “For the early portion of his career, Lewis Hamilton exclusively used helmets supplied by Arai.
“Hamilton’s first designs throughout his karting and early days of Formula One were inspired by his hero, the late Ayrton Senna.

“Gifted to Hamilton’s long-time helmet designer after the Barcelona test in 2011, the helmet remained in his custodianship until 2024, when it was acquired by the present owner, a collector of Formula One memorabilia.
“Hamilton helmets are rarely offered publicly and this would be a remarkable addition to any collection, representative of the later years of Hamilton’s tenure racing for McLaren Mercedes.”
