A pilot flew 7,500ft up in the air to write a one-of-a-kind proposal message.

Taylor Burcham was left speechless when checking her boyfriend’s flight path.

Terry Williamson, who has been flying for over 20 years, knew she’d check in at her lunch break to make sure he was safe.

And so he realised then would be the perfect time to pop the question.

Using a lot of G-Force, while 7,500ft up in the air, he wrote: “Will You Marry Me, Taylor?”

“It was a total surprise and unexpected,” the coffee shop manager told What’s The Jam.

“I was pretty proud of what he had done, since I knew what it took to pull off such a feat.

“I didn’t have any idea he was going to do the proposal.

“There have always been questions from friends about whether we were going to get married or when it may happen.

“But we’ve always just let things happen and taken our time.

“It was surprising for sure.”

Terry, from Kansas, US, popped the question on 9 April.

He spent two hours doing a series of twists and turns to pull off the one-of-a-kind proposal.

Taylor added: “He drew his flight path on an iPad while on the ground, where it was safe, mapping out the proposal.

“Then went up and flew through the pattern after he had talked to air traffic control and told them on the radio after he got to altitude that he wanted to do some manoeuvring.

“I always view the FlightRadar just for safety and to mainly see where he’s going, how fast and elevation.

“Since I was at work, I wasn’t able to just sit and watch the radar as I would if I wasn’t working – which he knew and was all part of his plan.

“Aviation has always played a big part in our relationship.

“We help with a programme that gets kids in the sky and we also help fly dogs from rescue shelters.

“We don’t have a date set for the wedding, but we both like adventure.

“There might be an aviation theme as well, but we don’t know for sure.”
