Renting in London has reached new extremes, with garage prices rivaling those of studio flats. For £1,271, secure parking in Kensington is available, complete with CCTV and utilities. Alternatively, a studio flat with private parking in New Cross Gate goes for £1,250, offering modern amenities and proximity to central London.

It’s no secret that renting in London is expensive but things are now so dire that you can rent a garage for the same price as a studio flat.

Seriously, for a mere £1,271 – which is more than some studio flats – you can store your car in the capital.

The garage is located in Kensington, is lockable and also comes with CCTV.

So it could well be a good option for someone with an expensive car that they don’t want to risk parking on the street.

The garage comes with its own water supply too and there is electricity available on demand.

“A very secure ‘lock up’ underground garage located under Albert Court,” part of the listing reads.

“The garage requires a key card for access and has CCTV in operation 24hrs per day.”

Meanwhile, for a slightly cheaper £1,250, you could bag yourself a whole studio flat that comes with its own private parking.

While the listing doesn’t specify CCTV or running water, it does come with the benefit of being part of a new home – so it’s presumably in good condition.

The home itself is modern throughout and appears relatively spacious by London studio standards.

Although located in the slightly less central location of New Cross Gate, it is worth noting that London Bridge is just a 10-minute train ride away.

Or you can get to Kensington in just 45 minutes.

But if a centrally located garage is what you absolutely need, within just 0.4 miles of Kensington Station, then perhaps the garage is worth the money.
