A man has skipped nearly 1,000 miles across Britain – completing the equivalent of 40 marathons in 40 days.
Krish Patel, 34, travelled from Land’s End to John o’ Groats armed with a skipping rope in a gruelling challenge believed to be the first of its kind.
The charity fundraiser set off from Land’s End on 18 August and finally reached John o’ Groats on 26 September.

He spent between eight and 10 hours skipping each day as he made his way along the length of Britain, as reported by What’s The Jam.
And after finally crossing the finish line, exhausted Krish admitted both he and his skipping rope were feeling the strain.
Krish, from Bolton, Lancs, said: “It was physically hard and my body is sore.
“The skipping rope is tired and I’m even more tired.
“But I feel great and what an amazing achievement.

“I was very proud to have done it.
“I’m looking forward to getting home and seeing family and friends – and having a rest.”
Krish has raised more than £11,000 for charities 52 Lives and The School of Kindness, which support work in primary schools across the UK.

He said the kindness he experienced from strangers along the route helped keep him going.
He said: “A helping hand.
“A word of encouragement.
“A gesture so simple, yet so powerful, it stays with you long after the moment has passed.
“Those experiences have reminded me that kindness transcends background, belief and circumstance.
“It has a unique ability to bring people together.”
The epic journey also brought some unexpected highlights, including spotting a golden eagle.
Krish said: “I’m so happy with that.
“I love wildlife and one of the ones I’ve wanted to see on this trip was an eagle.
“To be able to see a golden eagle I am just so happy.
“There has been some serious, serious hills but brilliant surprises along the way.”
His toughest day saw him cover a mammoth 34 miles from Delamere Forest to Wigan in just over 10 hours.
Remarkably, Krish had not done much skipping before deciding to take on the challenge and trained for just four months.
He came up with the idea after seeing children enjoying skipping during volunteering trips to schools.
He added: “It clearly brings smiles, it brings joy so I thought, you know what, what about if I skip the length of the UK with a skipping rope.”
Krish founded Bolton-based social enterprise Tales to Inspire in 2019, which aims “to bring people together through the power of real, lived experiences”.
