A mum has revealed the heartwarming gesture of her child who is using his own money to buy gifts for kids less fortunate.

When Toni Stapleton’s little boy, Rowan, seven, saw a family on the television who didn’t have enough money to buy presents for Christmas, he had an idea.

He asked his mum, aged 27, if he could use his pocket money to purchase gifts for kids who may not have anything under their tree to open.

Since then, he’s continued to put magic back into the festive season for many; with over 90 presents delivered to date.

“He’s such a caring little boy and always wants to help out wherever he can,” the university student, from Manchester, told What’s The Jam.

“Even as a toddler, he used to take bags of food to our local church.

“His generous personality means he often puts others first before himself.

“For him, he focuses on not judging people based on their situation, offering them love, in the hopes he will get to see them smile.”

Every December, he counts up his savings from the year – including pocket money and from birthdays, as well as Christmas – before dressing up as an elf to gather the presents.

Toni then puts a post on Facebook asking for anyone struggling to get in touch.

He’ll then hand deliver gifts to people’s doors, or to local churches, in a bid to make every child feel special.

To date, he’s spent £500 of his own cash purchasing dolls, toy cars and chocolates.

And now, he even asks Santa for cash instead of toys, so he can start saving for the next year.

Toni added: “I remember his first delivery; it was for a family who had recently suffered a house fire, so her son was going to get next to nothing.

“He was so chuffed with himself.

“People were surprised that a child as young as him wanted to help in this way, but for him, this was the best present he could’ve asked for at Christmas – to see others happy.

“I’m so proud of him; he’s spreading the true meaning of the festive season.

“It’s not about what you receive, it’s all about what you give back.”
