A horrified traveller’s budget hotel stay from hell has gone viral, after she filmed a tiny bed squeezed just inches away from a toilet and shower.
The unbelievable video quickly went viral, clocking up more than 2,700 likes.
Libni Fortuna – who spent $109 AUD (£55) on the tiny room – shared the bizarre video on Instagram, where it quickly caught attention from viewers baffled by the unusual design.

Fortuna, 33, booked what she believed would be a comfortable stay at a property called Airport Hotel Sydney via the travel agency, Agoda.
But when she opened the door to her room, she realised she would effectively be sleeping in a bathroom.
“I was surprised, laughing and nervous at the same time,” Libni told What’s The Jam.
“I honestly thought it was a joke and checked if I had booked the right place because it was so different from what was presented online.”

The Philippines-born entrepreneur said it was her first time booking a hotel in another country, which made the experience even more confusing.

“Since it was Sydney and it was called an airport hotel, I trusted it,” she said. “I thought maybe this was really how things were there.
“Jeez, I was wrong!”
The initial laughter and confusion soon turned into panic – and Libni quickly sought a transfer from her nightmare stay.

“In the moment, I felt helpless,” she said.
“I immediately looked for a new place in the CBD (Sydney central business district) and called my partner overseas to help me find somewhere better so I could move as soon as possible.”
Despite their comical location, Libni said she “never used the toilet or shower” and spent her time waiting to make her escape in the morning.
She later realised the hotel had received a string of awful reviews that she had not read before booking.
One review from Ailiyah branded the place a “catfish motel”. She said: “Literally felt so claustrophobic and triggered my anxiety so bad i booked another place asap to leave.”

Another guest, named Koby, said: “Dirty, poor customer service, smelly room with the toilet next to the bed.”
After Libni uploaded the video about her March 2023 stay to Instagram, viewers flooded the comments with reactions to the clip.
One person, using the profile name, mykeemae, joked: “That’s giving prison.”
And 80srok said: “Wow you serious? Sydney airport that can not be legal.”

“[It’s] basically a bed in the bathroom,” said Tarushhsaksena.
Meanwhile another user, named robeeas, pointed out a blatant and disgusting design flaw: “No escaping the smell after dropping a big one.”

Now, Libni says she hopes her baffling experience serves as a warning to other travellers.
“Do your research before booking a place,” she said.
“Please read the reviews. And just because it says ‘airport hotel’ doesn’t mean it’s actually convenient or comfortable.”
