A woman has welcomed twins at 43 having feared she would never become a parent – which she credits to ditching her vegan diet.

Molly Brown spent years trying for a baby with her husband Zach Hosny, 34, and suffered eight miscarriages, two rounds of hormone treatment and countless negative pregnancy tests.

Previously a vegan, she decided to see if her diet was impacting her fertility, and was stunned when she fell pregnant naturally with twin boys just a few months after eating meat again.

Now, she has recently welcomed her “angels”, two healthy sons called Zander and Ryder.

“After eight miscarriages and conceiving these babies naturally at the age of 43, I feel like they are supposed to be on earth with us,” Molly, an artist from Reno, Nevada, US, told What’s The Jam.

“We are so happy and blessed to have them – we say it every day.”

The tots were born in early December, eight months after doctors confirmed that she was expecting.

Molly was “cautiously optimistic” at the time, wary of having her heart broken once more by sad news.

But this time there was one big difference: she was eating an all-meat diet, which she credits her healthy pregnancy to.

Having spent years avoiding meat, she began eating high-quality animal protein, eggs, butter and collagen-rich foods in early 2025 – and believes the boost in nutrients and healthy fats played a key role.

She said: “I watched a video of a doctor who recommended being on a carnivore diet to get pregnant, so I started switching my diet up.

“I was vegetarian and vegan for 10 years because of IBS – I thought meat wouldn’t digest well – and because it’s hard to get clean meat at the grocery store.

“After listening to some of those podcasts about being carnivore, I thought ‘I’ve tried everything else, let’s try something in that direction’.”

A normal day included three eggs with butter and bacon for breakfast, ground beef stir-fry for lunch, and steak with butter and vegetables for dinner – plus several supplements.

Molly added: “I can’t say this is exactly what helped me – I’m not a scientist or a doctor – but I think it did.”

Despite finally falling pregnant with miracle twins, Molly’s pregnancy has been far from smooth sailing.

At 17 weeks, the mum-to-be discovered her babies were suffering from Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS) – a rare but serious condition where there is a disproportionate blood supply between the foetuses.

She was rushed for emergency surgery the very next day where doctors successfully performed a laser procedure to save both babies.

She had weekly check-ups for the remainder of her pregnancy and was relieved to safely welcome the boys last month via C-section.

The new mum said: “It was pretty intense, after a pretty intense pregnancy, but they were both born healthy.

“Zander was 4.5lbs and Ryder was 2.5lbs.

“Both of them had to be in the NICU for a couple of weeks to gain weight, but were otherwise strong and healthy.”

Molly and Zach were able to bring home little Zander just before Christmas, and Ryder around a week later.

She said: “They are both sweet boys – I love being their mother.

“I feel very lucky I was able to get pregnant and have twins and go through this experience, even though it’s been hard.

“It feels like a really big blessing.”
