An egg-obsessed man has revealed he eats up to 14 a day – despite his girlfriend being put off by the stinky habit.
Ruben Owen has been addicted to eggs for years, spending £20 a week fuelling his obsession and adding them to other foods like pizzas and burgers.
But the 24-year-old said his partner of two years, Amber, isn’t happy with the stench – even threatening to move out due to the gassy issue the food causes.

“My girlfriend is sick to death of me because I can’t stop eating eggs,” Ruben, from Abersoch in North Wales, told What’s The Jam.
“She says she can’t remember the last time she had a peaceful night’s sleep because [the gas] wakes her up.

“She’s even threatening that if I don’t stop, I might need to find somewhere else to live – or at least sleep by myself in another room.
“My friends say my farts stink so badly, too.
“But I’m obsessed.

“I eat them for breakfast, lunch, and for a bedtime snack.
“I ate 14 in a single day last week.

“There are empty cartons everywhere, and the kitchen smells permanently of fried egg.”

Ruben says he keeps 40 eggs in the house at a time, and also lives near a farm shop which has an egg vending machine – which he takes full advantage of when he’s in a pinch.
He said: “I have eggs with everything, not just on their own – I have it on pizza and I’ve started just putting it with anything, including every pasta dish I make.”
When dining out, Ruben requests a side of eggs with dishes like burgers and, if the meal already comes with eggs, he’ll ask for extras.
The content creator has been chowing down on the food since childhood, but became enamoured with eggs in lockdown.

He said, “I started eating them more often because they were quick, cheap, and filling.
“Now it’s just a habit I can’t break.
“I love the taste and they’re packed with protein, so it feels like the perfect snack or meal for any time of the day.
“My favourite is an omelette – I’ll look for it even when on holidays.”
Ruben estimates that he spends £20 a week on eggs, although he finds it difficult to keep track, as he buys cartons whenever he stops by his local shop most days.
He added, “I never get sick of eggs!”
