A rapid Ferrari that eclipses the Bugatti Veyron’s speed has gone on sale for an eye-watering £5.5m.

The hair-raising 2017 Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta possesses speed that makes even the quickest motors seem sluggish.

Even the iconic Bugatti Veyron can’t compete with its blistering pace.

The Ferrari can go from 0-60mph in just 2.4 seconds – beating the supercar’s time by 0.1.

The ride boasts an electrifying 9.7-second quarter-mile time while the Bugatti sits at 10.4 seconds.

This pristine motor is a perfect fit for a speed demon, with the vehicle in exceptional condition.

The 6.3-litre V-12 engine-powered Ferrari has averaged just 287.5 miles a year with under 2,300 miles on the clock.

The vehicle is a great example of Maranello’s high-performance 70th anniversary flagship hypercar.

Only 210 models were ever built, with this motor being offered with a removable carbon fibre hardtop.

The exterior is finished in an eye-catching Nero Daytona colourway over Nero leather with Rosso accents.

Bidding will take place on 15 August at the Monterey Conference Centre, Monterey, California, as reported by Whats The Jam.

RM Sotheby’s, which is hosting the sale, said: “Ferrari has long followed the tradition of introducing open-top variants only after its coupe flagships have firmly set new standards in performance, design, and exclusivity.

“Such was the case with the LaFerrari Aperta, the open evolution of Maranello’s seminal hypercar.

“Launched at the 2013 Geneva Salon, the LaFerrari – literally “The Ferrari” – was a bold response to the new generation of hybrid hypercars.

“Whether admired for its rarity and design or exercised on the open road or track, the Aperta’s astonishing Formula One-derived performance promises a visceral driving experience that few machines can match, making it a crowning addition to any world-class collection.”
