A woman claims hundreds of ladybirds have taken over her house – and are even peeing on her.

Lois Mallett-Walker was left stunned when the bugs started swarming her walls, curtains, windows and tiny crevices.

“One peed on me and it stank,” the 35-year-old told What’s The Jam.

“There was yellow-stained liquid on my hand, and it smelt so bad.

“Around 300 are in the windows, window ceils, under the patio doors and curtains.

“I love ladybugs, but it was far too many in my house for me.”

Lois, a director of a dog event company from Hertfordshire, tried to get as many outside as possible but also ended up hoovering some up.

She said: “I think there were lots of ladybugs sleeping in hibernation for the winter in my window sills.

“And then the warmer weather woke them up.

“There were tons of baby ones too.”

Lois has been battling the invasion since Monday (6 October).

She said: “It made me feel like ‘this is a lot.’

“I was like, ‘Can you find somewhere else to nest even though you’re totally cute?’

“I’ve been finding more today in various places, but mostly they have gone back into the hibernation stage.

“Which makes them look dead, but they’re not.

“I tried to release as many as possible, but I had to hoover some up.”

Lois shared a clip of the ladybirds on TikTok, where it has racked up over 29,600 views.

She captioned the post: “Anyone else got invaded by ladybirds?

“I think they were liking in my window doors and then it was so warm they came out of hibernation or something?!

“I love them, but this was too much… also one let out some liquid on my finger and it STANK!”

Her post attracted comments from people in the same boat.

One person said: “I had the same twice this week! So scary.”
