A single comic book cover from 1938 has sold for a staggering £320,000 at auction.
The wrap from Action Comics No. 1 – featuring the first-ever appearance of Superman – smashed records.
It is now the most expensive loose comic cover ever sold, blowing past the previous record of just £15,800, as reported by What’s The Jam.

The cover art, drawn by Joe Shuster, is one of the most iconic images in comic history and helped launch the entire superhero genre.
“This may well be the only one of its kind to ever come up for sale,” said Barry Sandoval from Heritage Auctions in Dallas, US.
The full comic is considered the holy grail among collectors, but this sale proves even a page of it can soar.
The auction runs until Sunday (6 July), with more rare items still up for grabs.
