Boffins has created a team made up of super-advanced robot footballers.
The humanoid G1-Comp, which is built exactly like a person, is apparently able to run, turn and jump.
It has a maximum speed of two metres per second and also has the ability to stand up on one leg.

With specialised knee joints, the droid can sprint and conduct emergency stops.
G1-Comp robots measure 130cm in height and weigh approximately 77 lbs, as reported by What’s The Jam.
In videos, the ‘team’ is seen practising on a football pitch, with one successfully kicking a ball into a goal.
Another video shows two robots colliding with each other in what appears to be replicating a tackle.
If they bump into each other, the tech has been designed to maintain balance and remain stable.

The robots are able to do this as their design has been based on a low centre of gravity.
The G1-Comp will rarely fall to the ground and will be able to get itself up to continue its tasks quickly.
Integrated in its design is also an Intel RealSense D455 depth camera which can allow it to achieve a 180-degree view through rotating its head.

This component means that the robot will be able to identify its environment and locate the whereabouts of the football so it can complete accurate shots.
Chinese domestic robot enterprise, UniTree Technology, is behind the creation.
Its price has not yet been disclosed to the public but a basic G1 robot sold by the company costs £11,000.
Although it will not be replacing the country’s national football team, the G1-Comp could be seen in the RoboCup.
The RoboCup (Robot World Cup) will take place in July 2025 in Salvador, Brazil, with the event bringing the world’s largest robotics and artificial intelligence creations together.
It could also feature in the World Humanoid Robot Games, which will be held in Beijing this year.
The main events in the games include track and field, football and comprehensive skills tests.
There will also be a robot half marathon, with the first official humanoid robot marathon planned to be held in Yizhuang, Beijing in April.
It has not been confirmed whether UniTree will participate in the RoboCup and World Humanoid Robot Games.
