A vintage motorbike belonging to a legendary Steve McQueen double is on sale for £6,000.

Stuntman Bud Ekins’s 1952 Matchless G80S was used in events such as the Beaulieu AutoJumble in Hampshire and the Munster International Rally in Ireland.

It is a single-cylinder, four-stroke 500cc model produced during the late 1940s and 1950s.

The motor was built by the historical British motorcycle marque Matchless Motorcycles.

And now it’s set for auction with Iconic Auctioneers in Shuttleworth, Bedfordshire.

“We are very excited to be bringing this ex-Bud Ekins bike to auction,” Dan Towers of Iconic Auctioneers told Whats The Jam.

Bud served as McQueen’s double in two legendary films – The Great Escape and Bullitt.

In 1971, Ekins and McQueen appeared together in the cult off-road film On Any Sunday.
