Shoppers have been warned to make sure they wear a BRA to a retail park due to new speed bumps.

The traffic calming measures have been installed near League One football club Reading’s stadium.

But motorists claim they are uncomfortable to drive over.

One female driver said she forgot to put on a bra before visiting B&Q on the Reading Gate Retail Park in the Berkshire town.

She said: “I didn’t have the foresight to put a bra on before nipping to the DIY store.

“Ladies will understand this pain.

“I highly recommend ladies ensure they are wearing a bra for future trips to the retail park.

“Or maybe keep a spare in the glove compartment.”

Another local Mark Forbes added: “Remember to take your bra.”

Kerry Gould-Whittaker said: “Its not fun going over it while pregnant.”

Rafael Ullah claimed: “The filling in my tooth came out when I went over it.”

Mark Norris quipped: “Let’s face it.

“Some are like mount Everest or K2 at the very least.”

Sam Hersom said: “No point buying any drinks from Costa or the other food places.

“By the time you’re out of the car park, you drink is half empty and the car needs valeting.”

Natalie Jordan fumed: “I’m more worried about what it’s doing to my car.”

Yet others said the humps – brought in to stop boy racers missing the car park – were a good thing, as reported by What’s The Jam.

Graham Woodcock said: “Seems like a great idea should have more.”

The retail park is in front of Reading’s 24,000 capacity Select Car Leasing Stadium.

As well as B&Q it is also home to McDonald’s, Costa, Smyths Toys and TK Maxx.

A spokesperson for Savills – which manages the site – said: “Following discussions with Reading Council, speed bumps were installed at the entrance of Reading Gate Retail Park in September this year.

“To mitigate anti-social behaviour at the scheme.

“As the appointed managing agent at the site, Savills can confirm that the speed bumps were installed to British Standard height.

“And the site is in the process of arranging for the installation of signage to accompany the speed bumps as a matter of priority.”
