Te XL1, a diesel-electric hybrid, was developed with the aim of making diesel as green as possible.
Aerodynamics was a priority when creating the first sketches; the less air resistance, the better.
The XL1 is also great in many other ways.
The ultra-lightweight body consists mainly of carbon with reinforced aluminum parts.

The streamline is unique and has an extremely smooth silhouette.
With its closed wheel arches at the rear and doors that open upwards, the VW could also come flying straight out of a sci-fi movie.
The car has only had two owners with 19,950km in mileage.

It is powered by an 800cc, two-cylinder diesel engine with 48hp and a 27hp electric motor.
Impressively, the vehicle can also do an astonishing 100km per litre, and with Diesel cars doing an average of 43mpg, this works out at a staggering 235mpg.
The combined power output is 51kw.
The final price will include the original car cover, hubcaps, and charger.
The car is up for auction via SBX Cars – with the current and fifth bid at £37,500, (€44,000).
