King Charles wants to hire an assistant…to his assistants at Buckingham Palace.
The successful applicant will provide a “pivotal role” to support his work and Queen Camilla’s.
They will coordinate their diaries and manage their travel arrangements and deal with a high volume of calls and incoming letters and emails.

The title will be Executive Assistant to the Assistant Private Secretaries to The King.
Job hopefuls will get paid £38,683.01 per year.
They will be expected to work 37-and-a-half hours a week on a permanent basis.
The role will be based at Buckingham Palace but will involve working at other royal residences and going on tours around the world.
The job advert reads: “As EA to the Assistant Private Secretary, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the official work of The King and Queen.

“We are seeking two Executive Assistants to provide comprehensive executive support to either the Private Secretary leading on Domestic Affairs or the Private Secretary leading on International and Humanitarian Affairs.”
It adds: “Supporting an Assistant Private Secretary, you’ll prioritise and manage requests, coordinate diaries, support meetings, manage travel arrangements and a high volume of calls and incoming correspondence.
“With exposure across the organisation, you’ll liaise daily at a senior level, building relationships with colleagues, government departments and external organisations.

“In this fast-paced and high-profile environment, you’ll handle a variety of tasks that require both independent initiative and exceptional teamwork.
“The role will involve spending up to four weeks per year working from other Royal residences and occasional ad hoc travel to support UK engagements or overseas visits.”
Applicants need relevant PA/secretarial experience, to be organised and have good diary management.
They will get 25 days annual leave to start with, an “excellent” pension plan and 20% in the shop.
