Is this the most expensive brew in the UK? Humble cuppa sells for staggering £9

If you thought the cost of living crisis couldn’t get any worse, a London restaurant is now selling a cuppa for a staggering £9.

For this mighty sum, diners at the Four Seasons Hotel will get to enjoy a humble cup of Earl Grey tea, as reported by What’s The Jam.

To put this price into context, ASDA is selling an 80-pack of Twinings Earl Grey for £2.88, equating to just over 3p a teabag.

This means that the Four Seasons is making a markup of as much as £9.97 when customers enjoy a brew in their five-star establishment.

Needless to say, the expensive tea is not the only eye-popping item on the Four Seasons breakfast menu.

Coffee costs £8 in any style apart from single espressos, these will set customers back £7 a pop.

And for a whopping £20, customers can enjoy two eggs, served in any style.

A Full English is a comparatively good investment and will set you back £45.

But if you want to properly splash out on your visit, a glass of Moet champagne will set you back £38.

Customers are also able to really lean into the luxury experience and order some Beluga caviar, which costs £470 for 30 grams.
