A shopper was left fuming after splashing out on what she claims was the “worst” Too Good To Go bag ever – packed with a battered baguette that she wouldn’t even feed to her pet.

Megan Elden decided to grab herself a deal after seeing TikTok users brag about bags bursting with bakery bargains and surprise treats.

But when she got her £2.99 Greggs bag, her excitement quickly turned to disbelief.

Instead of the fresh pastries and packed goodies others had shown off online, the 21-year-old found two sad-looking baguettes – one cheese salad and one tuna crunch – and a limp tuna mayo and cucumber sandwich.

She said the bread looked like it had “been thrown around for days on end” and the meagre haul was a far cry from the stuffed bags worth £15 that others had shared.

“I wasn’t best impressed with the Too Good To Go bag due to its contents,” Megan told What’s The Jam.

“After seeing the TGTG bag trend all over social media, I thought I’d give it a shot.

“My contents were completely different from the others I had seen.

“The produce itself was in poor condition and looked as though it had been thrown around for days on end between customers.”

To make matters worse, the bag was labelled vegetarian despite containing tuna – leaving Megan baffled and more than a little disappointed.

The Coventry shopper said she understood the idea behind Too Good To Go – helping to stop food waste – but thinks some of the items she received were simply too far gone.

She added that while she loves the concept, some products “are ready for the bin” and shouldn’t be sold, even at a discount.

She said: “I understand the concept is to ensure produce does not go to waste; however, I feel there should be a point where they think, ‘maybe this is ready for the bin’.

“This was my first time trying the TGTG bag and I probably would not purchase a Greggs one in the future.

“I feel this TGTG bag was a very controversial one. Some may say you get what you paid for; however, others could argue they wouldn’t even give their animal this produce.

“I do think this is the worst TGTG bag I’ve ever seen.”

Greggs and Too Good To Go have been approached for comment.
