Brave Competitors plunged headfirst into thick, filthy mud as they battled to become the fastest bog snorkeller at the bizarre annual World Championships.
The bonkers contest saw competitors from around the world throw themselves into a 120-yard course.
Now in its 40th year, the championships have become one of Britain’s most iconic quirky sporting traditions.

They take place at Waen Rhydd bog, in Powys, as reported by What’s The Jam.
Organiser Bob Greenough said: “The World Bog Snorkelling Championships are unlike anything else in the world – and that’s exactly why people keep coming back year after year.
“What began as a quirky local challenge has grown into an international event, but at its heart it remains a celebration of our community, our volunteers and the wonderfully unusual spirit of Llanwrtyd Wells.
“It takes a huge amount of effort from local people and businesses to bring the Championships to life each year.”
The championships formed part of Bogfest, a vibrant music festival held across the weekend, with live music from Hermione Wild, Ali Austin, Stompin Dave, Amber, Small Town Samba, Anonymous Sauce, Emily Breeze and Daryll’s Disco.

Emily Hall was crowned champion after clocking an astonishing 1:27.97.
The men’s title went to Adrian Sandstrom in 1:28.30, while Eve Stewart-Brown finished second in the ladies’ competition behind Emily.
The champion of the day was Emily Hall.
