A furious plumber fed up with the state of a filthy river has hauled a staggering 140 abandoned supermarket trolleys from the water – and he’s still not finished.
Kieran McGregor has spent the past month battling to clean up Brock Burn in Glasgow after becoming sick of seeing it filled with rubbish.
The 32-year-old has also dragged out wheelie bins, tyres and even a PlayStation console during his mammoth clean-up effort.

Kieran launched the mission after pledging to do his bit for the community and help bring wildlife back to the burn.
He said he was inspired to take action after walking past the waterway and being shocked by its state.
“I’m a plumber by trade,” Kieran told Whats The Jam.
“This just annoyed me.
“The state of the river is terrible, so I’m getting them cleared.

“I reckon the Brock Burn has another week of work, then the Levern needs a little more attention – maybe another week in the Levern and surrounding waters.
“I reckon another solid 30 days here and then I will move to other locations that need it badly.
“I love a nice-looking river flowing through the area.

“There must have been over 50 trolleys in one bit.
“For the first 14 days, I was by myself and then the community started coming on board.
“There are so many people wanting to get involved.”
Kieran is now on day 30 of a 100-day challenge – but hopes his clean-up campaign will eventually go far beyond the Brock Burn.
He believes stopping supermarket trolleys from ending up in parks, waterways and streets in the first place is key to tackling the problem.
Kieran said: “My main goal would be to make it a space for the local people.
“I’ve got memories of being a kid down there.
“I just hope to give the community an opportunity for a space to use and the wildlife to come back through that area.
“I’m just asking the public, please don’t throw rubbish in.
“We’ve had trolls coming behind us and throwing all the trolleys back in.
“I want to work with the supermarkets somehow to try and stop the trolleys leaving the markets.
“Hopefully there’s a way we can come together.”
Glasgow City Councillor Roza Salih praised Kieran’s efforts.
She said: “Kieran is doing a brilliant job in cleaning up the burn, and I am really pleased he is raising awareness of the issue.
“He really cares about his community.”
