A branch of Aldi could be renamed Aldeh permanently after a petition was launched following Oasis’ reunion.
The supermarket store in Prestwich, Gtr Mancs is near Heaton Park.
The Gallagher brothers are in the middle of five sell-out gigs there as part of their tour.
Aldi changed the name to Aldeh to reflect the Mancunian pronunciation.

Locals have started a petition to keep the sign, as reported by What’s the Jam.
It has already been listed as a cultural landmark on Google, with five stars reviews.

Ella Curtis, who started the petition, wrote: “Two weeks ago, Aldi temporarily renamed its Prestwich store Aldeh.
“In a playful and heartfelt nod to the Mancunian accent and to Oasis, one of the most iconic bands this city has ever produced.
“What started as a nod to a special reunion, quickly took on a life of its own.

“The rebrand resonated with people across Manchester and beyond. Photos of the sign went viral, because it tapped into something meaningful, pride in where we’re from, and in what this city has given the world.
“In short, Prestwich got its own Blue Plaque. “That’s why I’m starting this petition to ask Aldi to make the ‘Aldeh’ sign permanent.”
She goes on to say that the sign makes her feel proud, has brought a sense of community and joy to the area and has become a local attraction.

Ella added: “In just a short time, the sign has become a local attraction and even a landmark – a destination for fans.
“It is a symbol and reminder of how we, as Mancunians, all came together to celebrate the biggest reunion concerts from one of the world’s biggest bands happening right on our doorstep.
“The ‘Aldeh’ sign might have started as a temporary campaign, but it’s come to mean something more – to this city, to its people, and to anyone who recognises the power of music and place.
“Please consider keeping it in place as a permanent tribute.”
The supermarket have issued a response on social media.
They said: “Boss said we also need 10,000 likes and a comment from one of the Gallaghers”.
