A body-positive influencer is sharing her message of confidence this summer to those wearing a bikini on the beach – and doesn’t care what anybody else thinks.

Alex Aspasia hasn’t always been comfortable in her own body.

The 30-year-old, who is 5ft 11in and 350lbs, used to struggle with self-acceptance growing up, especially as people often called her a “whale”.

But now, after learning to express her femininity and reclaim her confidence, she’s spreading a message of body positivity to help others who may be insecure about their size, too.

And with summer in full swing, she’s flaunting her curves in skimpy bikinis, no matter what anyone else thinks.

“My favourite styles are two-piece bikinis and monokinis, as they make me feel confident and empowered,” the plus-size influencer and model told What’s The Jam.

“These choices aren’t just about fashion, but about reclaiming ownership of my body and celebrating its strength and beauty.

“To anyone feeling self-conscious about wearing a bikini, I want them to know that they deserve to enjoy the sun and the beach just as much as anyone else.

“Don’t let society’s narrow beauty standards hold you back.

“Wear whatever makes you feel confident and comfortable; whether it’s a bikini, monokini or any other style.

“Your body is beautiful exactly as it is.”

Alex, from Miami, Florida, US, previously hit the headlines after releasing a song about plus-size women to help them feel “sexy” in their own skin.

But there are still people who can’t accept her positive attitude.

She said: “Unfortunately, I still encounter hurtful comments, both in person and online.

“People have made cruel remarks about my size and appearance, suggesting that I should cover up or hide.

“It’s disheartening, but I’ve learned to prioritise my own happiness and self-worth over the negativity of others.

“Initially, these comments hurt deeply, but I refuse to let them define or dictate how I live my life.

“Instead, I focus on the positivity and support I receive from my community and use it as fuel to continue advocating for body positivity and self-love.”

Alex hopes to keep spreading her message to challenge beauty standards in society and to help people realise that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.

She added: “My journey […] was a personal evolution born out of years of feeling like I needed to change to fit in.

“I share my journey [to] encourage others to embrace their bodies unapologetically.

“I want to be a beacon of light in a society that often equates beauty with a narrow set of physical characteristics.

“Start by practising self-kindness and compassion.

“Challenge negative thoughts and replace them with affirmations of self-love.

“Embrace your uniqueness and celebrate what makes you, you.

“You deserve to love your body and live your life to the fullest.”
