A two-bed house is selling for a bargain price of just £32,500 but there is a catch…it used to be a cannabis farm.

The mid-terrace home looks unassuming from the outside with the front garden recently cleared.

It also overlooks sports playing fields.

But that is where the positives end.

The property is in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear where the average house price is £140,000.

But in the lounge and dining room, cannabis plant pots are seen on the floor.

Leaves from the drug crops are visible on white sheets placed on top of the carpets.

Wires hang from the ceiling as well as a ventilation tube.

Is it a similar scene in one of the bedrooms.

The top of the cistern has been removed in the bathroom, towels are left on the floor.

There are areas of missing paint on the walls too.

The kitchen is messy with what appear to be water marks on the ceiling too.

One home hunter said: “Love having lots of plants in your house?

“Then this place might be perfect for you, and it seems like a bargain at just £32,500.

“Just a tiny detail, it used to be a cannabis farm.”

It is being sold at auction by Landwood Group on 6 March and is being advertised on Rightmove.

The auctioneers made no secret of its former use.

The listing reads: “The property comprises a vacant two bedroom mid terraced bungalow with a dormer extension which is in poor condition.

“It is understood the property was previously used as a cannabis farm and a full scheme of refurbishment will be required.”
