The bleak property market getting you down?
If you’re open to living in less traditional spaces, there’s a new option available: your own “escape pod”.
The tiny round home was designed by Deltamodul, a manufacturer that specialises in unusual properties such as houseboats, bunkers, container houses and sauna cabins.

Some of them, such as the pod, are already built and ready, while others can be purchased on request.
Measuring just 8.55 square metres, the miniature home has one door and two windows, and was made from western red cedar to give it a natural-looking appearance.
There’s just about enough room for a living, eating and sleeping area, with a bench stretching across the entire pod inside.
The bed is made by connecting the benches and coffee table together for the perfect sleep.
There is also a small wood burner inside, as well as a coffee table in the middle.

Bad news for budding homeowners though – there is no bathroom or kitchen, so the pod may be better suited as a relaxation zone than a standalone flat.
On the upside, there’s a lot of hidden storage, as well as underfloor heating, insulation and power sockets.
And you could always do takeaways or outdoor BBQs.

The pod can be purchased for £22,800, excluding VAT, through Delta Modul.
