A stunned woman couldn’t believe her eyes when her barely recognisable missing cat was found after five years.
Janine Yarrell’s pet Bubba looked like a different puss due to her matted fur.
The 44-year-old didn’t think she would see the mischievous moggy, then seven, again despite putting out a social media appeal.

The white, black and ginger feline, now 12, vanished from the home she shares with husband Rob.
She got Bubba from a rescue centre after her mum died.
Little did she know, Bubba was just living on the streets as a stray in their hometown of Ashford, Kent since 2019.
She was spotted hiding under a car down their road from where they live on Tuesday (Nov 12).
A local then posted a snap of her on Facebook.

Janine then got her back yesterday (Nov 13).
“I honestly didn’t think I’d see her again,” Janine said.
“As she’s 12 now and used to the creature comforts of being at home.

“So I couldn’t believe my eyes when her photo was posted on Facebook.
“We checked her microchip details and now she’s finally back home.
“Her fur is matted and I’ll get her checked up by a vet, but she’s in relatively good shape considering she’s been living on the streets for five years.”
She thinks Bubba has been living on the streets and has been occasionally fed.
An emotional Janine also told What’s The Jam: ”Let this be a strong message to all owners to check their pets’ microchip details are up to date.
“And above all never, ever give up hope.”
She added: “I’d like to thank everyone who shared her photos across social media.”
