A sorry-looking kitten has been rescued from a car engine.
The fluffy feline then got a lucky break when one of the firefighters gave it a new home with a family member.
The fire brigade received a report of an animal trapped under the bonnet of a parked motor.

It happened in Pensacola, Florida, US.
Escambia County Fire Rescue sent the crews of Engine 1 and Logistics 1 to the scene.
They spotted the trapped kitten in the engine compartment after it seemingly climbed in to seek shelter.

The rescue team removed several splash guards under the car to reach the moggy on Monday (4 Aug).
After safely removing the cute kitten from the car, a firefighter gave it a forever home with a relative, as reported by What’s The Jam.

A fire brigade spokesperson said: “Escambia County Fire Rescue’s Engine 1 and Logistics 1 were dispatched to a small animal rescue at the 300 block of Loveland Circle.

“Soon after arrival, a small kitten was found stuck in the engine compartment of a vehicle.
“Firefighters removed several skid plates from beneath the vehicle to make access to the kitten.

“It was removed unharmed.
“The kitten was placed into the care of a family member of an ECFR firefighter.”
