Footage has captured the touching moment a man was reunited with his dog after years of separation.
Minnie has spent the past 750 days in a shelter.
Her owner, who has not been identified by name, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.

At first, he had tried to keep her at home and the pup would dutifully sit by his bedside.
But as the patient’s health deteriorated and he began receiving gruelling treatments, he was sadly forced to give her up.
The pair had no idea if they would ever see each other again.
But now, just over two years later, they have been reunited.
The beautiful moment was captured on camera and has left social media users in tears.
“Minnie came to us in October 2022 through our humanitarian boarding program, sponsored by PetSmart Charities,” reads a Facebook post by the Humane Society of Greater Niagara in Canada.
“About a month later, with his health declining, her owner selflessly agreed to surrender her, wanting Minnie to have a better life even if it meant breaking his own heart.
“For the first time since the day she was born, Minnie was separated from him.
“And even while he battled cancer, he thought of her every single day, carrying her dog tags in his wallet and visiting the shelter just to catch a glimpse of her from afar.”
In August this year, the pet owner received the happy news he had hoped for – he was in remission.
His first thought? Minnie.
The shelter added: “He went to our website, clinging to the hope she was still here.
“When he saw her face staring back at him on the screen, tears filled his eyes.
“He immediately started preparing, moving into a new home with a big backyard, planning every detail so Minnie would never have to spend another day in the shelter.”
After 750 days, Minnie is back where she belongs.
The shelter added: “She has her dad, a forever home and a special place in all our hearts.
“We’ll miss her here but knowing she’s finally home fills us with joy.
“Here’s to Minnie and her dad, a love that never gave up.”
In a clip of the heartwarming moment, the owner can be seen kneeling down on the floor as he looks for Minnie down the corridor.
She then sprints into his arms with her tail wagging and licks his face.
The dog continues to run circles round her owner and is clearly overjoyed to see him.
Social media users have come out to share their thoughts, as reported by What’s The Jam.
