A hapless owl had to be rescued after tangling itself in a football net.
The police pondered whether the great horned owl was playing Quidditch with Harry Potter.
The bungling bird apparently flew into the net in the early hours of Tuesday morning (2 Sept).

It was found tangled in the goal net at a school in Leander City, near Austin, in Texas, US.
Animal Services officers arrived on the scene after receiving a report of an owl in distress, as reported by What’s The Jam.
A police spokesperson explained: “We are calling this feisty cutie Keeper!

“Keeper was all tangled up in a soccer net at one of the schools.
“We think this happened last night when Keeper was attempting to capture the golden snitch, during their first Quidditch game of the year.

“It is unknown which housekeeper belongs to; however, 50 points have been awarded to Gryffindor, as Dumbledore likes to have favourites.”
The police added that Keeper was transported to MoonShine Wildlife Rehabilitation in Cedar Park for care.
One local joked: “Looks like a Hufflepuff to me.”

“They should disassemble the Quidditch net at night,” added Chrissy.
Lisa said: “He went from Seeker to Keeper.”
“I hear them all the time. The Screech Owls give them a run for their money!” quipped Denise.

Myra remarked: “That face is too cute!”
Earlier this year, an owl was spotted photobombing a team photo in São Paulo, Brazil.
The clip showed several locals playing on a volleyball court at night after setting up their camera on the ground.
The owl suddenly walks into the shot and stares straight down the lens.
The group performed silly gestures in the background as the nocturnal bird took centre stage.
At one point, the owl even centred itself in the frame before inching closer to the camera.
