A lost moggy has found its way back to overjoyed owners two years after it mysteriously vanished.
Heather MacLachlan was used to her elderly cat, 17-year-old Bailey, exploring the outdoors.
Despite his advancing age – around 84 in human years – he loved an adventure.

Then, one night, Bailey didn’t return – leaving his owner and cat brother, Scooby, heartbroken, reports What’s The Jam.
Heather put up posters everywhere but there was no sign of her beloved feline.
“Since we rescued them [Bailey and his brother] – when they were aged one – they had only ever spent two nights apart,” said the 47-year-old, from Forth Valley, Stirling, Scotland.
“We were so upset when he went missing and his brother was lost without him for a long time.
“We were out searching for Bailey and left his bed at the door to see if he got the scent.

“We put up posters, the vet advertised he was missing and we contacted Petlog – but [there was] no trace.”
Having all but given up of ever seeing Bailey again, Heather was shocked when someone posted online about having spotted him living under the garden decking of a neighbour’s house.
She sought up the owner and was thrilled to discover that it was indeed her cat.

After the difficult task of enticing Bailey out of his sheltered spot, Heather rushed him to the vet who confirmed the pet’s identity through checking his microchip.
His coat had matted so his hair was shaved off – but the cat was otherwise in good health.
Heather is sharing her story to encourage other pet owners not to give up on their beloved animals.
She added: “Don’t give up.
“We never thought this would happen, especially at his age, but he is home, the wanderer returns!”
