A thrifty Brit has proved you can still dine at Marks & Spencer without breaking the bank – after serving up a slap-up dinner for two for under a fiver.
Elliot Jeory, 39, has gone viral on TikTok with his bargain chicken and rice traybake, racking up 92,000 views and nearly 2,000 likes.
The budget-savvy foodie revealed he picked up four chicken drumsticks from the M&S value range for just £1.80.

He added a 25p onion, an 80p bag of rice, and a pack of stock pots for £1.50 – enough to make multiple meals.
Elliot said he dices the onion, seasons the drumsticks with paprika, herbs and salt and pepper, then mixes stock cubes with hot water.

He pours it all over the rice, onion and chicken in a tray before baking for 55 minutes at 200 degrees.
By the end, he says you’ve got “some nice seasoned chicken with fluffy, tasty rice” – all for less than the price of a pint.
“I spotted the M&S chicken a while ago, it’s a great deal and I really enjoy it so I try to show people some cheap tasty recipes you can make with it,” the dad-of-two from Preston, Lancs, told What’s The Jam.

“M&S have a really good basic range if you’re on a budget and it’s not so bad when you make the meals yourself.
“The quality is excellent so I always pop in store looking for a yellow sticker bargain.”
Fans lapped it up online.
