A frugal mum has shared how she feeds a family-of-four a full Christmas dinner for just over £10.

Charlene Woracker dishes up a festive meal complete with roast pork, potatoes, carrots, parsnips, red cabbage, pigs in blankets and homemade Yorkshire puddings.

The 34-year-old – who lives with her three children – said: “In the past I’ve spent a fortune on Christmas dinners and pre made vegetables.

“When I can get carrots and parsnips for pennies.”

“I can say with confidence that my Christmas dinner has much more flavour as everything is cooked from scratch.

“It’s healthier too.

“I buy a pork joint for £5.85, pigs in blankets for £2.25, potatoes for £1.15, red cabbage for 75p and carrots for 10p.

“I make the Yorkshire puddings myself and they cost me around 40p.”

She does her Christmas meal shopping at Morrisons and keeps an eye out for deals.

Charlene, of Sheffield, South Yorks, also told What’s the Jam. said: “I budget about £10 for Christmas dinner every year.

“My children absolutely love it. They much prefer pork to turkey.

“It’s important for people to know that it can be done on a budget because a lot of people are struggling financially especially with the cost of living being so expensive.

“It also means I can spend my money on other things such as more presents for the kids.

“I hope I can help other families who think they have to spend a fortune on Christmas day.”
