A Brit living in Benidorm has issued an urgent warning to holiday goers visiting the destination this summer to bring physical cash with them.
Harry Poulton regularly shares his travel tips and advice about the Spanish location with his 37,700 followers on TikTok (@harrytokky ).
He’s previously revealed how to avoid a hefty fine while at the beach, reports What’s The Jam.

Now, the 24-year-old has issued an urgent PSA for people planning jetting there for a bit of sunshine, as he’s noticed that many businesses are only accepting cash, not cards.

In the clip, which has racked up 24,000 views and hundreds of likes, he begins: “Warning for anyone coming out to Benidorm in the next couple of months.
“Do you need to bring cash to Benidorm?”
Harry, from Brighton, admits that he never carries cold, hard cash with him anymore.
But he’s recently noticed a shift in businesses only accepting physical money.

The content creator explains: “There’s quite a few bars that don’t accept cards, which is really surprising.
“We all know about the Benny blackout, well, there was no way to pay by card then […] so what does that tell you?
“Should you bring cash to Benidorm? Absolutely.

“I’m always carrying a tiny little bit of cash [now] around with me just in case.
“You don’t want to be ordering your drink, and you get caught short when the card machine isn’t working.”
As a final note, he says it doesn’t need to be hundreds of notes, but a small buffer will go a long way.
