They are rich in nutritional value, but are commonly seen in the eater’s bowel movements the next day.
As a result, the mushroom is jokingly dubbed ‘see you tomorrow’.
Lin Xianghong, a gastroenterologist in Taipei, Taiwan, shared images of the patient’s colonoscopy scan on Facebook.

He wanted to point out the importance of always chewing your food properly.

“It serves to remind everyone that you should always chew your food properly.”
He gave the patient some gut cleansing medicine, and they were able to excrete the mushroom naturally, as reported by What’s The Jam.

He added that he often encounters passion fruit, pitaya and watermelon seeds in patients’ intestines while performing colonoscopies.
Taiwan’s Ministry of Agriculture said that the cell walls of enoki mushrooms contain solid chitin polysaccharides that the human body cannot fully break down and digest.
Instead, they pass through the digestive tract and into the colon, where they can be fermented by gut bacteria.
This can yield health benefits like increased short-chain fatty acid production and improved metabolism.
