William Orbit’s three Grammys, which he won for working with Madonna, were left smashed up after a DHL delivery went wrong.

The award-winning producer and musician sarcastically thanked the courier service after his trophies turned up “broken”.

The 69-year-old most famously won one of the Grammys for his work on Madonna‘s 1999 Ray of Light album.

Unfortunately, the DHL package containing the trophies, which travelled from Venice to London, got horrifically damaged along the way.

The star posted his frustration online yesterday (12 Mar), as reported by What’s The Jam.

Orbit said: “Thanks DHL, for returning my three Grammys to London from Venice.

“But it seems now instead of three, I possess nine broken bits of Grammys.

“Thing about Grammys, and despite that I’m told they maybe don’t have the same impact as a decade or two back, I wouldn’t say no to another one.

“More because the after-parties more engaging when you are clutching one of those trophies.”

The Madonna album he worked on debuted at No.2 on the US Billboard 200.

At the time, it was the biggest first-week sales by a female artist of all time – peaking at No.1 in 17 countries.

He also bagged a Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media – with the track Beautiful Stranger.

The tune featured on the soundtrack for the hit film Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me.

During his long career, the producer has worked with the likes of Blur and All Saints.

Fans were left shocked by the state of the Grammys.

One person said: “Good advert for DHL.”

Another said: “A jeweller should be able to fix, definitely not landfill.”

A third added: “Doesn’t look like they were packed that well either though.”

And one person said: “This is unbelievable.”

Another added: “Learning Grammys are made out of cheap plastic is kind of disappointing.”
