A mum who thought she’d snapped up some trendy bamboo blinds for a from bargain site Temu was left baffled when her order arrived – only to show a sheet with a picture of the blinds printed on instead.

Bron Galic had just bought an apartment and wanted a blind for her kitchen window when she spotted the budget buy on the popular shopping app for around $10 (£5.30).

But instead of receiving an actual blind, the mum-of-two opened the package to find what looked like a novelty tablecloth – a flimsy sheet covered in a bamboo blind print.

“When I opened the package, I couldn’t believe what I was looking at,” Bron told What’s The Jam.

“It was sheet with a bamboo blind print on it!

“I had a good laugh.

“I didn’t think it was a mistake – I thought it was typical for Temu.”

At first she decided to use the bizarre item as a table covering before quickly giving up and chucking it in the bin.

Bron said the blinds, which took two weeks to arrive after she ordered them, left her feeling both laughing and annoyed.

Despite the blunder, she wasn’t surprised, describing the app’s product listings as “convoluted”.

She also didn’t bother contacting Temu directly, instead requesting a credit through the app – which was promptly granted.

The mum, from Melbourne, Australia, said: “I noticed they [the blinds] are no longer available.

“They were described as a blind [online].

“Sometimes their descriptions of products are so convoluted and they go on and on.”

The shopping mishap hasn’t put Bron off using the bargain retailer, though she admits she’ll be reading product descriptions a little more carefully in future.

Similar bamboo blinds from other retailers typically sell for much higher prices, but Bron insists the experience was more funny than frustrating.

A spokesman for Temu said: “At Temu, we’re grateful for all our customers. We understand that on this occasion the product didn’t quite meet expectations, but we appreciate the good humour Bron brought to the situation.

“The product listing in question was removed in May for not meeting platform rules.

“Customers are covered by our 90-day money-back guarantee for items that are not as described and our customer service team is available 24/7 to help with any post-sale concerns.”
