The potential prizes included iPhones and luxury bags.
According to Tiffany, he tore along the perforation but there was already a hole in the inner cup that caused the hot tea to pour out over himself.
In the video, the whole drink appears to pour onto Yap’s lap and front seat.
The clip went viral on the Chinese social network Xiaohongshu and Yap’s name was even trending for a while.
As a result, the bubble tea company Chagee contacted Tiffany to compensate her boyfriend, as reported by What’s The Jam.

One local commented: “The whole world knows his name now. He is Yap Jun Hao.”
Tiffany, who works as an estate agent, replied: “He said the same thing, the entire world now knows his name.”

Chen said: “Your boyfriend was very calm, he didn’t freak out over the tea waterfall at all.
“And he didn’t say a single bad word!”
