Mum left mortified after husband says new jumpsuit makes her ‘look like Kwik Fit car mechanic’

A mum was left red-faced after her husband said her new jumpsuit made her look like a car mechanic.

Judy Bratt, 55, asked for her partner’s opinion after treating herself to a bright blue one-piece from River Island.

But in a hilarious video, filmed by the couple’s 28-year-old daughter, Ellie, the new outfit didn’t get the reaction she was hoping for.

Charity worker, Judy, proudly shows off her new jumpsuit to her husband, Simon.

“I didn’t know you were going to be a car mechanic starting a new job tomorrow,” he said.

“Are you going to work for Kwik Fit?”

Judy says: “Simon, that’s not nice. Stop being rude.”

She then leaves the room and returns wearing a pair of heels.

She says: “How about now, Si? With a high heel?”

But Simon isn’t convinced.

Ellie and her sister, Leah, 25, can be heard trying to convince their mum to get the jumpsuit in a different colour.

But Judy eventually decided to return it.

“She thought it would be nice and edgy and good to wear with heels or trainers,” Ellie, of Loughton, Essex, told What’s The Jam.

“She wanted to try something different, but my dad had other ideas.

“My dad is quite opinionated. He’ll say straight away if he likes something or not.

“She tried it on and came downstairs to see what he thought.

“He wasn’t having any of it. He absolutely slated it.

“He said it reminded him of the outfit we wore when we went skydiving when we were on a cruise.

“Then he said she looked like a Kwik Fit car mechanic.”

Judy added: “I thought the colour was cool because it was a really nice blue. I really liked it.

“When my husband told me I looked like a car mechanic, I was upset to start with, because I really liked it… then I realised he was right.

“I did look like a car mechanic in it which is why I sent it back.”

The video has racked up more than 87,000 views and 7453 likes.

Ellie, who works in marketing, said: They’re such a funny couple. It’s them to a tee.

“The funniest thing was that she thought it would change his mind if she put heels on but he wasn’t having it.”

One user commented: “She’s gone straight back upstairs to get it packed and refunded.”

Amy wrote: “Kwik Fit brand deal pending?”

Elle said: “He is right, sorry.”

Amy added: “I agree with Simon. I think it’s the colour.”

River Island has been approached for comment.
