A star from Married at First Sight UK has urged fans of the reality show to “lay off” those who couple swap as this series has “worst matches yet”.
Ella Morgan has lifted the lid on what happens behind the scenes.
The 34-year-old made history on the E4 reality dating show after her stint in 2023, where she became the first transgender bride.

The podcast and reality star had a turbulent time herself on the programme and ended up switching partners – ultimately falling for co-star JJ Slater, who is now dating Katie Price.
Now, she’s slammed fans of the show who lash out at those who couple swap, especially due to the “worst matches” she’s ever seen this series.
And hopes to remind people that it’s for entertainment purposes only.
“I do think they have been badly matched this year – in fact, I would go as far as to say it has been the worst,” Ella, from Bristol, told What’s The Jam.

“I don’t have much hope for many of them.

“This year there has been a lot of chaos and drama, probably more so than my season.
“People need to remember it’s a television show, though.
“You’re not going to watch anything mundane, we all want to be invested in it.

“I don’t think many of them are there to find love.
“It would be lovely to see people find happiness but we all have to admit that with a show like MAFS, we want drama.”
And it turns out it’s not just the experts that do all the love matchmaking.
She said: “It’s not just the experts that match you – it’s a wider production team who also contribute to match people together and the experts guide the process.

“The experts get a lot of backlash for it, so I feel a bit bad for them.
“I don’t think people go in with the intention of couple swapping, but it is such an easy thing to do.
“People should lay off those who do, because unless you’re in that position, it’s easy to say ‘don’t do that’ but you can’t help how you feel.
“I got a lot of stick on the outside for couple swapping, but I don’t think people realise how hard it is unless you’ve lived that experience.
“It wasn’t that I didn’t try in my marriage, but you can end up getting on with someone better.
“I ended up with JJ and we left as friends and he will probably always hold a special place in my heart, because he was one of the first people I ever loved in my life.”
Ella, who has just finished wrapping up filming for Celebrity Come Dine With Me, says she is currently staying away from dating.
She added: “There’s just no time for men.
“There’s been an odd person I’ve spoken to, but I haven’t gone on a proper physical date since my last relationship.

“It’s a bit sad, but my time will come.
“I don’t think I am actually ready for a relationship, a lot happened in my last one.
“I’m not scarred, but I don’t care to entertain one right now.
“It would take a very special person if I was to do that.
“It can be a bit sad and lonely sometimes.
“It’s at this time of year, when it’s Christmas, that you want to be snuggled up with someone.
“All my friends are in relationships, I’m the only single one.
“I just went to my brother’s wedding and all three of my brothers are now married, so you do feel it.
“Because I’ve got my dog, if I didn’t have him I think I would be craving a relationship, but I’ve got him and he keeps me distracted.
“So I don’t need a man when I’ve got him.”
