A Lord of the Rings fan is selling a painting signed by Bernard Hill for £10,000 after the actor’s shock death.

The large oil painting features the “The Riders of Rohan” – which is an army of horsemen in the film trilogy.

The original oil painting is by an artist called Anna Kulisz, as reported by What’s The Jam.

The owner of the painting says he took this painting “in its frame to Sheffield Comic Con in September 2022.”

He claims that he was the first person in line to the venue just to meet Bernard Hill.

Hill then signed the painting.

Bernard Hill is known for playing Théoden, King of Rohan, in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy.

The owner, from Northampton says it “is still a prized possession of mine and has been hung on my wall since that date.”

However, he is open to cashing in on the painting following the actor’s death.

He has listed the signed painting on eBay for a whopping £10,000.

The painting comes with a certificate of authenticity.

The seller even shared a snap of him posing with the late actor who passed away on Sunday (5 May)

The listing reads: “The Riders of Rohan” is an Original Oil Painting by Anna Kulisz, this is not a copy, canvas, print or poster.

“This was purchased directly from the artist Anna Kulisz from Krakow, Poland who had also signed the painting and then shipped to the UK where I’ve had it professionally framed by Seasons Gallery and Framers in County Durham.

“I took this painting in its frame to Sheffield Comic Con in September 2022 where I was the first person in line to the venue just to meet the man himself, Bernard Hill.

“This is still a prized possession of mine and has been hung on my wall since that date.

“Should any offer tempt me I would consider the sale.

“It comes with a CoA which is behind the painting’s frame.”

It adds: “It’s very sad to hear of Bernard’s passing, he was an incredible person on screen and a genuinely nice person off screen too.

”While standing talking to Bernard he asked me about the painting and although there was a growing queue of fans wanting to meet him that didn’t stop him spending time with me and wanting to tell me about filming the scenes of Ride of the Rohirrim.

“He said “when I had to shout Death, all of the other people then shouted death! Behind me and my horse nearly bolted so I was like.. f*****g hell!”

“Bernard asked me what I wanted him to sign and I said “you can choose whatever you want, to me it’s just the fact that you’ve signed it”.

“So Bernard wrote: Death! Death, Death next to his placement on the painting.

”Bernard really liked the painting and when I told him I had travelled just to meet him and leave the comic con he was impressed, then I told him I was outside for four hours before the doors opened and instantly going back home a few hours away I think he realised how much it meant for me to meet him.

“So here is your chance to potentially own a piece unique of a signed painting from the best speech from the greatest scene in cinema history.”
