Aldi is giving away thousands of free strawberries as Wimbledon gets underway – while slashing the price of its British fruit to just 99p nationwide.
The supermarket will hand out free strawberries at its Wimbledon store throughout the opening week of the tennis tournament.
The giveaway runs from 29 June to 3 July, with thousands of shoppers expected to get their hands on the free fruit at the south west London branch.

Meanwhile, Aldi has cut the price of its Nature’s Pick British Strawberries (227g) to 99p in stores across the UK for a limited time, as reported by What’s The Jam.
The retailer says it expects more than five million punnets of strawberries to fly off shelves during this year’s Wimbledon fortnight.
Last year alone, Aldi sold almost 1,700 tonnes of British strawberries during the tournament – the equivalent of around 4.5 million punnets.
The supermarket says strawberries remain one of Britain’s favourite summer treats, whether served with cream, eaten on their own or used in popular social media recipes.
Alongside the 99p punnet, shoppers can also buy Aldi’s Everyday Essentials Wonky Strawberries (227g) for £1.19, Nature’s Pick British Strawberries (400g) for £1.99, Nature’s Pick British Strawberries (600g) for £2.79, and Specially Selected British Grown Strawberries (400g) for £2.85.

The promotion coincides with the start of Wimbledon, where strawberries and cream have become one of the tournament’s most famous traditions.
Aldi’s strawberry range is available in stores nationwide now, with the 99p offer running for a limited period.
