A ‘youth retirement home’ is set to open its doors for stressed-out Gen Zers.
The establishment’s 25-year-old owner got the idea from his parents, who own a care home for senior citizens.
He calls his venture a “youth retirement home” where guests can “sleep until you wake up naturally”.

He explained: “I’ve seen too many 90s and 00s kids like me who are burned out before they even reach 30.”
The retreat offers young adults a month-long escape from the rigours of modern life for just £367 (MYR 2,000).
The fee includes accommodation, three square meals a day, and access to the peaceful, natural surroundings.

The Gopeng Youth Nursing Home will open in Gopeng, located north of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in January 2026.
The retreat is situated on an eight-acre plot of land and is designed for guests to do absolutely nothing during their stay, as reported by What’s The Jam.

Gen Zers are told: “No KPIs, no 9-to-5, you can sleep until you wake up naturally.
“Eat home-cooked food, plant vegetables if you want, watch ducks walk around, or just daydream for the whole afternoon.”
The retirement home has no schedules or structured activities, instead youngsters are encouraged to just chill out and do nothing.

Their philosophy follows the Chinese social movement known as ‘tang ping’, a youth rejection of societal and career pressures in favour of a more relaxed, less materialistic way of life.
Listed as a “retirement and assisted living facility”, the Gopeng Youth Retirement Home is set to open its doors next month.
The founder said it is already fully booked by stressed Gen Zers for the first month and they are now taking bookings for February.
